Quick tips
- Functions open a parenthesis — close it with
(then type the argument, e.g.sin(30). - ± toggles the sign of the last number.
- AC clears everything; ⌫ deletes one character.
- Results show live — press = to lock a value and keep calculating from it.
About This Calculator
A full scientific calculator with arithmetic, exponents, roots, percentages, parentheses, and trigonometry. Switch between DEG (degrees) and RAD (radians) for the trig functions — all results update live as you type.
What you can do
- Arithmetic with + − × ÷ and parentheses
- Powers (a^b) and square roots √(x)
- Percentages (x%), constants π and e
- Trigonometry sin, cos, tan plus ln, log
Implicit multiplication is supported (e.g. 2π or 3sin(0)), and unclosed parentheses are auto-balanced on equals.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between DEG and RAD mode?
DEG interprets angles in degrees (so sin(90) = 1), while RAD uses radians (sin(π/2) = 1). Switch depending on the units of your angle.
Why does -3² equal -9 and not 9?
By standard order of operations, exponentiation binds before unary minus, so -3² is -(3²) = -9. Use (-3)² if you want +9.
How does the % (percent) button work?
It divides the preceding value by 100. So 50% becomes 0.5, and 2^2% becomes (2²)% = 0.04.
